Well, it turns out you will not have to wait until November 11th's patch 1.1 for new story content in Genshin Impact. Late last night, miHoYo announced that they will be adding a new story quest to the game soon, the Astrolabos Chapter, which stars Mona, one of the game’s few 5 star heroes.

So, what’s the deal?

This chapter will unlock at weekly reset on Monday, October 26, at 4 AM ET.

In order to “see” the quest page, you have to have hit Adventure Rank 26. But in order to actually unlock the quest, you need to have hit Adventure Rank 38, two levels higher than the last story quest at AR 36, which starred Venti. You will need to use a key to unlock it that you get from doing eight daily missions (which I imagine most players have at this point).

As I mentioned, Mona is one of the game’s few 5 stars, and no doubt that we will get an opportunity to “test” the hydro, catalyst-wielding hero and be tempted to try to pull her from the general banner. She’s actually my current most sought-after hero.

Here’s how Mona is described in the official lore of the game:

“ A mysterious young astrologer who proclaims herself to be "Astrologist Mona Megistus," and who possesses abilities to match the title. Erudite, but prideful. Though she is often strapped for cash and lives a life of thrift, she is resolved to never use astrology for profit... It is this very resolution that has caused her to constantly fret about money.”

Why is everyone always either strapped for cash in this game or have an unlimited amount of money?

Unless I’m missing something, despite the similarities in appearance and name, Mona is not related to Lisa, the default electro hero, despite the two pairing well together (Mona Lisa!) with hydro and electric powers.

So, you have the weekend to try to get your Adventure Rank up to 38 in order to start this quest. I’m 39.5 and I qualify, but the good thing about these kinds of story quests is that they always give you a lot of Adventure XP by themselves and will likely get you most of the way to the next level. Strangely, I find the story quests lag far behind Adventure Rank in terms of the actual character level they require. I was way, way overleveled for the Venti quest at AR 36, for example. We’ll see what the Mona one is like.

I believe the next day there will be another in-game event starting that will award gems and other materials, unrelated to this. We don’t have many details on that yet, but those should be out soon. Stay tuned.
