Virgil van Dijk suffers ACL damage in major blow to Liverpool

3 days ago 4

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage, which will require surgery and see him sidelined for anywhere between six to nine months depending on the recovery progress.

Club sources are reluctant to rule out a return to action this season after the centre-back sustained the injury following a reckless and unpunished Jordan Pickford challenge during the Merseyside derby draw at Goodison Park.
