Make all days good hair days with these iPhone apps

From Jennifer Aniston’s gorgeous caramel and blonde highlights to Rihanna’s traffic- stopping hairdos, songstresses and celebrities have us running to our hair stylists every few months in search of the new perfect look. If you want to get a heads up on the latest hair trends or maximize your particular hair type without an expensive trip to the salon, check out some of these hair-”do” iPhone apps for a fraction of the price.

The long and the short of it

The Long Hairstyling app ($5.99) has 20 crazy cool videos on how to easily style long hair. Whether you want sexy wavy hair, Miley Cyrus hair or even a basic bun, this app has a quick video to tutor you in the art of long hairstyling.

If your hair is on the short side, check out the Short Hairstyling app ($5.99) to get the best out of your short locks. This app has video lessons to teach you how to do pin curls, how to backcomb and how to get the best everyday looks for your short style.

Whether your hair is short or long, if you don’t have the proper hair care regimen down, you’ll frizz and fry before you are smooth and dry. The iHair Care app ($2.99) has all the tips and tricks you need to get the best style out of your natural and chemically treated mane. My favorite part of this app is the helpful information on home hair coloring and homemade hair masks.

Find the perfect match

Before you commit to a new drastic ‘do, try on different hair styles and colors with the Hair MakeOver app ($1.99). Pick a photo from your current library, take a new photo with your phone’s camera or simply use a model to stand in as you as you test drive different looks. You can even save your makeovers to create a collage and compare different styles and colors side by side to find the perfect look for you.

The free Nick Chavez Beverly Hills app has tips, looks, videos and more to help keep your hair looking “90210”- worthy. In the “Perfect Match” section of the app, Nick asks you some questions to help recommend the perfect match of products just for you—a direct link allows you to order the products Nick recommended just for you.

Before you walk that perfect mane of hair out the door, check the Haircaster app (99 cents) to find out how the day’s weather will affect your hair. The app alerts you to “Stay Home!” with a “frizz factor” alert when the humidity rises.
