Channel Your Inner Anna Wintour with the Style.com

Marc Jacobs, Thakoon Panichgul, Nicolas Ghesquiere, Muccia Prada – if these names mean anything to you then make the Style.com iPhone app your next download.

Style.com, Vogue magazine’s online counterpart, is an endless trove of luxurious prints and fabrics, and even more luxurious parties. The high-end clothes might be beyond your budget (think $3,500 tweed skirts), but the app is free so window shop to your heart’s content.

Despite the crowded field of fall collections, spring collections, men’s wear, resort wear, couture, etc., Style.com simplifies things down to six basic categories. Principal among these is the “fashion shows” category, which provides coverage of all the major shows complete with a written review and photos of every look sent down the runway.

Equally entertaining is the “parties” category, which contains hundreds of photos of everyone from New York society girls such as Lauren Santo Domingo to of-the-moment actors such as Jon Hamm. This being high fashion, you will also find a smattering of Russian billionaires, French indie film makers and Brazilian super models. So if you are looking for Hollywood smut, stick to US Weekly.

The app’s one shortfall? It doesn’t allow you to view both the photos and photo captions simultaneously, so you have to jump between the slide show and the event description.
