Here’s some big news from the Zynga Unleashed conference taking place in San Francisco. As reported by Mike Isaac at AllThingsD, the popular social gaming company has unveiled a unified platform which will unite players together across the major mobile platforms and portals including the Web, iOS and Android, Google+ and Facebook.
With so many gamers on so many different platforms, Zynga feels players can’t always sync up to play the same games. Zynga With Friends will change that. “The social engagement across our network is industry leading, but it’s also fragmented,” said Manuel Bronstein, who is the general manager of Zynga.
The newly-launched Zynga API will ensure game developers can offer widgets and social interaction once found only at Zynga.com. This will lead to increased user engagement. There will even be a real-time multiplayer component, which is quite a bit different to the turn-by-turn capabilities offered by the current “With Friends” game titles on iOS and Android.
Although there is no set date just yet, the platform is expected to roll-out soon on Zynga.com, Facebook and mobile devices.
